Canadian Makes History At The WSOP

A young online poker player from Quebec has made poker history by becoming the first Canadian poker player to win the World Series Of Poker.

Twenty three year old Jonathan Duhamel first sat down at the WSOP tables back in June, and beat a field of nearly 7,500 to snatch the title, bracelet and the small matter of a cheque for nearly $9,000,000.

Entering the heads-up stage with more than six times the chips if his opponent, the young canuck raced to the finishing kind in less than two hours to take the crown.

Runner-up John Racener walked sway with his head held high, and $5.5m big ones burning a whole in his back pocket - a record amount for second place at the World Series Of Pkr.
