Gamblers Using Betting Apps More

A new study has shown that more online casino and betting customers are using betting apps more than ever before, thanks to the boom of smartphones.

In a report commissioned by Ofcom, it states that 40% of UK adults own an iPhone, Android or similar smartphone.

This in turn has seen a rise in the number of betting apps and casino apps for iPhone - which has proved to be a massive filip for operators especially in light of the recent European and World economies.

The biggest winner however seems to be the bookies, as customers are using the smartphones more and more to bet by phone; the report citing some 75% of all mobile betting coming in the form of sportsbook betting.

But casino apps are making headway in the great smartphone race - it is estimated that mobile casino apps will account for over 1% by the end of 2013 - some 10% of all online casino wagering - but as time goes on, mobile casinos will account for a massive 40% of the mobile betting market.

Some of the best uk casinos online have already got onto the smartphone bandwagon, most notably 32Red Mobile Casino and Paddy Power Mobile Casino.

It is thought that by the end of 2014, the mobile casinos and betting market will be worth a massive €5bn.
