High Roller Sues Hills for Millions

A high roller with a compulsive gambling problem is suing William Hill for over GBP 1,000,000 in the losses he has incurred, after claming that he had previously self-excluded himself.

Graham Calvert, a 28-year-old man from the North of England, self-excluded himself since reportedly betting around GBP 30,000 a time, up to 20 times a day.

He claims to then have suddenly realised that this could not go on - despite earning GBP 30,000 per month and saving over GBP 700,000 to bet with as a successful Greyhound trainer.

It was then that he self-excluded - whereby a customer can call an online bookie, online casino or online poker rooms and ask that he not be allowed to bet again with that company.

Such though was the urge, he managed to open another account with William Hill and continued to then lose the GBP 1,000,000 sum with some crazy huge bets - including a 2006 Ryder Cup bet that went horribly wrong...to the tune of GBP 347,000.

The case continues.
