Hulk Horror For Casinos Kiddies TV Cock-Up

One of the best UK casinos online was horrified to hear the news this week that one of their TV adverts designed specially to advertise an online slot machine, was used on a children's TV channel.

Gibraltar based online casino site, Gala Coral learned of the 'serious breach' committed by the TV company in charge of screening the ad, which aired on the Cartoon Network and Boomerang TV channels.

The TV ad, featuring mobile betting, mobile casino games and the Incredible Hulk online slot machine, was shown between the hours of 7am and 9am on a Saturday - to the horror of Gala Casino chiefs.

The ASA (Advertising Standards Authority has sinced slammed the TV company in question, Turner Broadcasting - whom have since owned up to the cock-up and have apologised, 'unreservedly' to both the ASA and Gala Coral...

'We apologise unreservedly and have reviewed our transmission processes to ensure this highly regrettable incident remains a one-off occurrence.'

The ASA, the adverising authority set up to monitor and prosecute all adverts in the UK, has strict guidelines when it comes to gambling companies and other online casinos broadcasting their TV ads - that being adverts that are within or next to shows or channels where under 18s are prevelant viewers.

As well as these strict guidelines, online casinos are also bound by a voluntary code agreed amongst themselves when it comes to advertising online casino slots; that being no ad should be aired before 9pm.

Casino Geezer recommended Gala Coral are quite rightly horrified by what has gone on and although no spokesman was available at the time of going to press, it is known that they are 'deeply concerned' over the mistake on Turner's part - according to a report run on the BBC website.

The ASA ruling came about after seven complaints were made. No further action against Turner will be taken, although Coral themselves are now holding an investigation into how such a supplier could have made a mistake.

It is reported that all future Coral ads managed by Turner would, on the demand of Corals, would now be pulled.
