Ladbrokes Denies Security Breach Rumours

The rumour mill has been in overtime this week, after a UK newspaper revealed that one of the best uk casinos and sportsbooks faced a serious security breach.

The Harrow-based bookmaker Ladbrokes is facing reports that personal details of over 4m customers were being offered to a journalist from the Daily Mail.

The journalist is said to have been offered the details of 10,000 online casino customers, for a cash sum; including names, emails, phone numbers and dates of birth - from someone at the Aussie IT company DSS Enterprises. It transpires that DSS completed work for the UK bookie back in 2007.

The owner of DSS Enterprises was quick to deny any wrong-doing, stating...

'I have no access to any Ladbrokes database or any other information. Unless my name, my signature, my fingerprint is on anything, it has nothing to do with me.'

A spokesman for Ladbrokes was equally as quick to dampen down an hysteria surrounding the revelation...

'This is a criminal act and we are working with the police, the Information Commisioner's Office and the newspaper to identify and apprehend the culprit. Importantly, we do not believe that customer accounts or banking data can be accessed.'
