Ladbrokes Post Disappointing Results for 2009

The company behind one of the best uk casinos has posted their figures for 2009 - to the chargrin of the City of London and it's investors.

Ladbrokes announcement highlights a fall in pre-tax profits by more than 25%, following a tough start to the football season for all online bookies, where there was only four draws in the first sixty six Premier League football matches - compared to an average of seventeen draws from the last five years.

On top of this remarkable run of events, that customers snaffled up with aplomb, the industry has also had to deal with some of the coldest weather on record, affecting many race meetings up and down the country.

A spokesman for Ladbrokes said of the latest results...

'In the third quarter, our customers had a good and long- running winning streak,” chief executive Christopher Bell said in a conference call this morning, also blaming the UK economy.'

Ladbrokes eGaming, which runs the sportsbook as well as its poker room, online bingo and online casinos sites, saw profits fall by 16%.
