New Chairman Installed At Bwin-Party

Changes are afoot in Gibraltar this week as the newly forged powerhouse of online casinos and poker announced the acquisition of their new chairman.

Gibraltar-based uber gaming company Bwin Party Gaming has hired Simon Duffy to be the newly formed company's new chairman, which remains on course to go ahead in early 2011 as planned.

Duffy has previously held a number of similar roles, including exec chairman Tradus and ntl:Telewest, as well as CEO and COO of the NASDAQ listed VMG. Other roles include stints at Orange, HMV and EMI.

A spokesman for the company said of the appointment...

'We are delighted that with his wealth of business experience from a career spanning many different industries and companies, (Simon) will become chairman when our transformational merger is complete. His achievements from working with consumer-facing businesses, especially those in the entertainment and online industries, will be an invaluable resource for us as we seek to exploit the significant opportunities that we expect to flow from the continued expansion of the online gaming industry.'

Austrian based Bwin and Gibraltar based Party Gaming announced their merger earlier this year, following twelve months of intense media speculation.
