Online Poker Ad Falls Foul in Germany

One if the best online poker sites has had a brush with the law in Germany, after their new ad campaign was deemed too violent for national TV.

Isle of Man licensed Poker Stars created the 90 second ad, which featured a number if their online poker pros trying to kill each other by unusual means.

In what is an often graphic display of murderous intent, the ad finishes with the strapline 'Play Online Poker; It's Safer PokerStars - Awarded Safest Online Poker Site'. German TV authorities took umbrage to the poisoning, arson and glass attacks - and duly banned it.

Of course, as the old adage goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity, so whilst German TV goers are no longer able to view the online poker ad, the YouTube generation certainly has - in their thousands.
