Online Poker World Record Smashed Again

The world record for the most amount of poker hands played at an online poker site in one day has been smashed - only days after a Russian poker wonderkid claimed the spoils.

US online poker player 'chicagojoe' managed to claim the new record after an astonishing 50,000 poker hands in 20 hours, 2 minutes - all played at one of the best uk poker sites, Poker Stars.

The American's new record comes only a matter of says since a Russian 22-year-old called 'innerspy' set the record after completing just over 40,000 hands of poker in 18 hours and 33 minutes.

Not only did he break the record, he announced that he would days before and even laid up to $30,000 in side action. On an online poker forum, 'chicagojoe' said that he was up for the challenge...

'Will be starting this prop bet tomorrow morning between 10-12AM eastern and hope to play 50k+ hands in a 24 hour period and show a profit. I am putting up about 13k of my own money in hopes of winning 30k! I will be playing all hands at NL25 on PokerStars and am very confident in my chances here'.

The young American also posted a video of his strategic tv monitor set up on YouTube  - good tohis word, he reached the 50,000 hand mark and was $850 in profit by the end.
