Online Scratchcards The Next Big Thing

One of the world's biggest betting markets could soon be opening it's doors to the possibility of allowing online scratchcards to be purchased; despite their seemingly lack of enthusiasm for online gaming.

The Government of New Zealand has strongly hinted that online scratchcards, or scratchies as they are known down under, could be allowed to buck the current trend of allowed betting online, as it's National Lottery looks to increase sales.

The move would mean selling the scratchcards in supermarkets and newspaper shops, as well as allowing Instant Kiwi online scratchies.

A spokesman for the New Zealand Lotteries board was a little cagey of the latest rumours...

'To introduce more products to our online channel would have to meet our high standards of social reponsibility and subject to Government approval.'
