One of the leading uk casinos and sportsbooks has today announced that their mega-bucks offer to sponsor world golfing star Tiger Woods has been rejected.
Irish bookmaker Paddy Power said that IMG had rejected an offer of $75m, in what would be a five year deal to sponsor the world's number one golfer.
Tiger Woods has recently hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent times, having been caught up in extramarital affairs, which has led to a spate of sponsors pulling out of huge deals with Woods - including Gatorade, Accenture and AT&T.
A spokesman for the Dublin based company said of the offer...
'The offer is 100% serious and not a publicity stunt. He's unquestionably the world's biggest sports star. Tiger's a big brand name and he's up their with the Coca Colas.'
Paddy Power has grown from strength to strength in recent months, having acquired Australian bookmakers Sportsbet and International All Sports, as well as signing a B2B deal to supply risk management and pricing to French bookmaker PMU, the largest betting company is Europe.
