Paddy Power Twists The Knife

Some may say that negative betting is simply not cricket – but it hasn’t stopped one of the biggest online betting companies to get in on the act as the UK is gripped in Election Fever.

One might expect to see odds for who will get to No.10, can the Tory’s get a majority or odds on how many seats will one particular party get on the night – but it seems that the knives are out at Paddy Towers, as they line up the great and good ready to lose their deposits.

Playing on the classic football terraces song that grace many a Premier League ground recently, Paddy Power have enlisted a huge green truck with the words ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ splashed across it – and parked it not to subtlety right in front of Westminster.

With some 75 current MPs in their firing line, betting fans can take a punt on who will be red faced come the declarations – with Scottish Labour Leader Jim Murphy and prominent Lib Dem spokesman Danny Alexander amongst the front runners to fall on their election boxes.

In normal election betting news, Paddy also report a late surge of bets for David Cameron – and if the saying ‘the bookies knew’ rings true again, it’s ominous news for Labour and Ed Milliband it seems.
