Party Poker Supplies Winner of Aussie Millions

An online poker player from Bondi Beach has scooped the 2010 Aussie Millions - thanks to an online poker satellite from one of the best uk poker rooms.

Tyron Krost, a 23-year-old from Sydney qualified for the top poker event down under via Party Poker and he held his nerve to top a field of 745 players.

The event, which is held at the famous Crown Casino in Melbourne, took seven days to whittle the large field to the final table, all vying to win the first prize of just over £1m.

As with most poker tournaments, Krost had to do it the hard way, facing a final table including top poker pros Sorel Mizzi, as well as the ex-European World Series of Poker champion, Annette Obrestad.

Going heads-up with Fred Jensen, the Aussie enjoyed a 2:1 chip advantage, taking no time to pick of his opponent and with it the title of 2010 Aussie Millions Champion.

Reflecting on an amazing tournament, Krost commented on his win...

'This is totally unbelievable - it is beyond my wildest dreams. If it is a dream, I don’t want to wake up! In total I spent $700 trying to qualify for a package and I have managed to turn that into AUD$2 million!.'

Whilst this is his biggest win to date, Krost is no stranger to the big time poker tourneys, having cashed in at the 2008 World Series of Poker.
