The owner of one of the most sought after online casinos website domain names is counting his cash this morning, after finally selling it off for over $5 million - thought to be the most amount paid for a website address for the year so far.
The anonymous seller, who is thought to live in the Los Angeles area, sold his Slots.com domain address earlier this week - despite the fact that after a week of bidding, the reserve price set was not met.
But after much negotiating between the seller and the impending buyer, the final figure of $5.5m was agreed upon - instantly catapulting it amongst the top ten most expensive domain names ever sold.
There are no details as yet on who bought the domain, which is currently used to review online casinos and the best slots online, but it is believed to have gone to one of the leading online casino software suppliers.
The domain name was originally bought way back in 1995 when some of the best uk casinos started to emerge onto the internet, including InterCasino which is considered by many to be the very first online casino.
