Virgin Dons Online Poker Room

One of the leading online poker rooms has announced the signature on a sponsorship deal for the F1 motor racing team, Virgin Racing - in time for today's Spanish Grand Prix from Barcelona.

The deal will see the Full Tilt Poker brand on the cars of drivers Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi, who start the race at 23rd and 24th respectively. The online poker brand will also appear on the drivers overalls as well as other areas within the pitlane.

It is thought that the deal had been negotiated for almost six months, with a spokesman for Full Tilt Poker Room said of the deal...

'Full Tilt Poker partnering with Virgin Racing is a brilliant culmination of a great deal of thought and effort on behalf of both brands.'

Equally as pleased with the deal were Virgin Racing, whose chief exec Graeme Lowdon said of the deal...

'(we're) particularly pleased that we have worked hard together with a partner who has seen the team develop from its birth through to our first competitive steps.”

As with all Virgin brands, each one is fully autominous from the other, meaning a deal such as this is possible, rather than take on their 'own' brand, Virgin Games.

The US facing Fulll Tilt Poker was one of two brands blamed for Party Gaming's recent announcement of sliding poker revenues, along with online poker giant PokerStars.
