Wigan Puts Shirt on 12Bet

Another day, another online casino and online sportsbook that has signed a deal with an English football club and this time it is a team in the Premier League who have agreed to adorn a bookies brand.

Lancashire based Wigan Athletic has agreed a two-year deal with online bookies 12Bet.com, in what has been hailed as the most valuable deal in the club's history. The deal will see the 12Bet logo on the home and away shirts for the next couple of seasons, as well as branding around the DW Stadium.

A spokesman for the club said of the deal...

'We are really pleased to have agreed this major new commercial partnership and to have secured such a substantial fee from a high profile brand like 12Bet demonstrates where the club is going. We are looking forward to working with them to achieve our collective objectives over the next two years.'

CEO of 12Bet, Rory Anderson, was equally as excited about the new deal...

'We're delighted to join forces with Wigan, in a deal that will give us great exposure both in the UK and around the world, providing the perfect platform to promote our core product - betting in-play.'

Wigan's deal is not unusual in the Premier League - far from it. Bookies and online casinos are the norm when it comes to football sponsorship, including Sportingbet, 32Red and 188Bet.
