William Hill Post Strong Figures

The UK's biggest and best betting sites online announced their latest figures today - which hit the top market expectations thanks to a cracking World Cup performance.

Leeds based bookie William Hill were the latest to go up before the City, showing off revenues of over £1bn - including an increase of 24% for their online business, to over £250m. Profit after tax came in at a whopping £156m - 92% up on the previous year.

Ralph Topping, CEO for William Hill PLC said of these latest results...

'This is a strong performance and in particular, our online business and gaming machines from our shops have performed very well. Our continuing investment in technology have underpinned growth and the more than doubling of the amounts wagered from betting in running demonstrates that customers welcome these.'

These latest results from Hills come on the back of equally impressive stats from rivals Paddy Power and Ladbrokes - as well as recent controversy where William Hill was looking to put injunctions on their own business partner - Playtech.
